Am I the only one who is stuck on the "share system update" page when I login? It will not let me view the stats page or anything except for that message. I've cleared browser data out, used three browsers, and tried on two different computers... lol  ::)
There is a big blue 'Continue' (or something similar) button at the bottom of the message.

Yeah I see that now... I can't even express how dumb I feel. Too stupid for words with that one. I can see everything after clicking the very obvious button  :P

On ypool when a share is found, the same share value will be paid for 80 blocks. After the share is found, if there are orphaned blocks, are the orphans subtracted from the 80 blocks or not? I.e. if in the next 80-1 blocks there are 3 orphans, will the miner be paid 77 times in the end, or still 80 times, the last block being 83-1 blocks.

After some counting it seems that if orphans happen during the 80, the share value are not paid. I think this is not fair. The miners, together with the pool,  have already suffered by the orphan rate -- all miners have equal probablility to have their shares found in a orphaned block and lose the share. The miners shouldn't be taxed by the orphan rate a second time when their shares are already found in a successful block.

At the current high rate of orphan, this loss is not trivial.

It's an known issue that we plan to fix with one of the next updates. However, it shouldn't matter that much anymore since we were able to fix the high orphan rate bug.

Edit: Just in case anyone thinks this is still an issue. This has been fixed for some time now. Orphans are ignored within the 80 block range, no share value goes to waste anymore.

Made a little tool for yPool, there API is out and had a play.

I just use it to watch my gains without having to be on a browser, this just sits nicely in the corner of my windows mining monitor.

Nice. Is it possible to choose which numbers to/not to display form command line?

Hey mate, ill make a new thread for discussion over at ypool community forums.
A bit busy for next hour or so then ill be home from work and can make some changes.
Your idea is exactly what i was thinking, would help keep the form small so it can hide in corner easier. Instead of command line arguments maybe pass it a config file.
Lets keep all chat about my tool out of this thread as to not hijack it, in the next couple hours you will find a url here to the thread to talk about the took.

Not totally irrelevant to this thread.. but the ypool forum seems to require a seprate registration -- you can't use ypool identity or identity here. It's another passwd to keep track of. I have been trying not to register unless I really have to.

Some news for ypool:
Today we decreased the number of confirmations for XPM blocks. Therefore unconfirmed XPM go into valid balance after about 17 hours instead of 3 days. We still plan to decrease it even further. I also updated the first post to state that we have a 24h lottery (raffle).

I've noticed that when using yPool, every few hours my share value drops significantly. This has happened about 5 times over the past two days, is there a reason why?

It happens when you got lucky and found a rare share. Usually a 9ch with a share value of 20, which is 4000 times more value than your average 6ch share. Since we count shares for 160 rounds (4-5 hours) you will get a boost across those 160 rounds. After that the share will not be considered anymore for all coming rounds, thats when you see the jump downwards.
