HP8 has been released, which should double the blockrate (mikaelh says so). No blocks for me till now. I´m wondering if it´s important to use the performance tweaks such as sievesieze and sievepercentage. Didn´t use it, but got very very few blocks the last days ( I think two this week with about 25k pps)

I found my first block a few hours ago. Between 11 and 12 coins. I have mined for about 4 and a half days.

Configuration as follows:
- 2-4 Cores about 3.4 GHz
- primecoin-0.1.1-hp6

I think HP6 is bad joice currently. I use HP8, but HP5 makes sense too, if you do not trust the newest build.

Currently Playing with the parameters postet by  Tuck Fheman on bitcointalk with my XEONS

Quote
"roundsievepercentage" : 40,
"sievepercentage" : 8,
"sievesize" : 200000,

got +35% PPS and  chainspermin is very fluctuating between  -70% and  +100%

Quote
"roundsievepercentage" : 25,
"sievepercentage" : 10,
"sievesize" : 100000,

again +30% PPS but no improvement with chainspermin

Quote
"roundsievepercentage" : 20,
"sievepercentage" : 8,
"sievesize" : 100000,

a little bit over +30% PPS, chainspermin again very fluctuating between -20% and +50%

Quote
"roundsievepercentage" : 30,
"sievepercentage" : 10,
"sievesize" : 100000,

again +30% PPS but no improvement with chainspermin

Also tried several completely different parameters but got nothing better the the first ones above.

What are your experiences? Which parameters with which CPUs?

Hi Fuzzy, I seen that before, but still I find it strange, last week I found 3 blocks, then for 7 days I don't find anything. I know difficulty went up but jeez that's quite a bit from 3 blocks to none in a week.

The way the price of the coins is going down I dunno if its worth having the pc flat out all week only to get a coin a week *pool*, or none at all solo, I understand it must be hard but I think its very hard right now for only cpu power.

Found a block during the weekend, after a week's getting nothing on two machines. It was found with a mellow i5 PC which has been a workhorse, pulling in 2x as many blocks, compared with a supposedly superior Xeon server. Both on latest miner from Mikaelh.

I have the exact same here. My crappy i5 Laptop at below half the PPS is getting by far more blocks then my dual quadcore Xeon machines. Wondering what is the problem here  :-\

I'm still mining with 3 CPUs total - taking days to find a single block, which is what I would expect at this point. It is still satisfying though seeing a transaction come in! I am ready for mtrlt's GPU miner to be released  :)

Seems that difficulty is going down. Better odds now maybe?

I found another block on Sunday and 3 on Monday.
